The Carolina Center for Behavioral Health is currently looking for a Certified Recreation, Art, Dance, or Music Therapist to join our team of dedicated professionals.

SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES : To develop and provide therapeutic activity groups to adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. To ensure the safety and well being of these patients and to support the maintenance of therapeutic milieu.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide therapeutic recreational, music and activity services to geriatric, adult and adolescent patients
  • Develop and implement activity therapy treatment plans in concert with the interdisciplinary treatment team
  • Maintain the clinical and administrative documentation associated with services rendered
  • Comply with facility safety, infection control and security program
  • Support facility service excellence standards.

Qualifications

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Art, Music or Dance Therapy required. Certification in Recreation, Music, Art, or Dance Therapy required. 

Experience : Zero- one (0-1) year of experience required. A knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness, preferred.

Additional Requirements : Successful completion Management Aggressive Behavior Training (HWC) before on the unit orientation and prior to assisting with restraining procedures.  Successful certification through American Red Cross or American Heart Association for CPR prior to taking an independent patient assignment.
