Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced and hands-on Lead Snowflake Data Engineer to join our growing data engineering team. This role will involve leading a team of onsite/offshore developers, designing and building high-performance data pipelines, and managing cloud-based data warehousing solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Snowflake, Python, AWS , and modern data engineering practices, with a strong background in ETL/ELT, analytics , and data pipeline development .

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a team of data engineers working on cloud data warehouse initiatives
• Manage and oversee multiple data projects in parallel, ensuring timely delivery
• Assign and track tasks across onsite and offshore team members
• Design, build, test, and maintain efficient, scalable data pipelines using Snowflake and AWS services
• Serve as SME for Snowflake and cloud data warehousing best practices
• Develop and maintain complex SQL scripts, stored procedures, and data transformation logic
• Create and maintain technical documentation (data flow diagrams, design docs, test cases)
• Analyze new data sources for quality, availability, and integration
• Collaborate with QA and business teams to ensure data readiness and quality
• Conduct peer code reviews and ensure adherence to development best practices
• Participate in on-call support rotations and assist with incident resolution and root cause analysis
• Contribute to enterprise-level CI/CD, version control, and deployment practices
• Guide the team in following enterprise standards for security, compliance, and change management
• Support business users and BI teams in accessing and analyzing key metrics

Required Qualifications:

• 6+ years of hands-on experience with Snowflake and advanced SQL development
• Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts : star schema, normalization/denormalization, aggregations, data modeling
• 6+ years working in analytics/reporting environments and production support
• 4+ years of experience with Python for data transformation and automation
• 4+ years on cloud platforms , preferably AWS (Lambda, S3, EC2, SNS/SQS)
• 4+ years with ETL/ELT tools (e.g., Informatica, DBT, Fivetran, Pentaho)
• Solid experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Bitbucket, Bamboo)
• Familiarity with agile methodologies, Git workflows, and modern DevOps practices
• Ability to manage large-scale, multi-user support environments
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Technical certifications in AWS , Azure, or GCP
• 4+ years of experience in business verticals such as finance, retail, or telecom
• Experience developing KPIs and business metrics
• Prior experience in enterprise data governance or metadata management
• Experience supporting thousands of users in a large-scale data platform
• Prior team leadership experience (minimum 4 years)
