Job Description

Our insurance defense law firm is seeking a reliable and detail-driven Billing Administrator to manage billing operations using Clio. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all time entries and expenses are properly recorded, compliant with client billing guidelines, and invoiced accurately and promptly. You will serve as a critical liaison between attorneys, clients, and billing platforms to support timely and compliant invoicing.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate and manage client invoices using Clio Manage, ensuring compliance with client-specific billing guidelines and formats.

  • Review attorney time entries for accuracy, completeness, and proper task code classification.

  • Submit invoices via electronic billing platforms commonly used in insurance defense.

  • Monitor and track invoice approvals, rejections, and payments, proactively following up as needed.

  • Collaborate with attorneys and staff to resolve time entry issues, billing discrepancies, or client inquiries.

  • Maintain accurate records of billing activity and prepare regular billing status reports.

  • Stay current on insurance carrier billing requirements and adjust internal processes accordingly.
 Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of billing experience in a law firm, preferably within insurance defense.
  • Strong working knowledge of Clio Manage and familiarity with legal e-billing portals.
  • Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail.
  • Professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and billing cycles independently.
  • High level of integrity and discretion when handling sensitive billing information
