Job Description

The World Equestrian Center is hiring an Equine Social Media Manager to join our team. The Equine Social Media Manager is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive social media strategy to enhance the visibility and engagement of World Equestrian Center equestrian events. This role requires strong storytelling skills and a hands-on approach to content creation, including filming, editing, and publishing social-first content. The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable behind the camera, in the editing suite, and managing online communities.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a strategic content plan for WEC-owned horse shows to maximize audience engagement, brand awareness, and revenue-driving conversions.
  • Maintain a consistent posting schedule across key platforms (Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube), adapting content for each platform.
  • Capture real-time photo and video content at horse shows using professional-grade equipment, ensuring compelling, high-quality visuals.
  • Film and edit short-form and mid-length video content (Reels, highlights, athlete/trainer features, behind-the-scenes coverage, etc.).
  • Deliver quick-turnaround edits for short-form content (Reels, Shorts, etc.) to ensure timely posting during and immediately after events.
  • Produce digital advertising videos and paid social content to promote WEC equestrian events, ensuring deliverables meet campaign objectives.
  • Work closely with the official show photographer to review and select images that align with social media storytelling and marketing goals.
  • Oversee daily social media engagement, responding to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure all equestrian sponsorship social media deliverables are fulfilled in alignment with contractual agreements.
  • Creatively integrate sponsor brands into organic content to maximize exposure and audience engagement.
  • Monitor, track, and analyze key social media metrics to identify trends and refine strategies for audience growth and engagement, leveraging data-driven insights and staying current with industry trends and platform updates to optimize performance.
  • Strong understanding of equestrian sports and horse show culture, including experience in the hunter/jumper industry (multi-discipline experience is a plus). However, applicants without direct equestrian experience may also be considered if they demonstrate an outstanding track record of high-level sport-related content creation.

This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the associate occupying this position. Associates will be required to perform any other job-related duties assigned by their supervisor. This document does not create an employment contract, implied or otherwise, other than an "at will" employment relationship.

  Qualifications:

  • Professional experience in videography and photography using professional cameras and equipment (in addition to mobile devices).
  • Proven experience managing social media platforms for a brand, team, or event.
  • Demonstrated ability to grow followers and engagement across social platforms, with bonus consideration for candidates who can showcase increased revenue generation through social media efforts.
  • Experience creating content optimized for paid social campaigns.
  • Professional experience in video and photo editing using Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, etc.) is preferred; however, candidates with expertise in other industry-standard editing software may also be considered.
  • Proven ability to film, edit, and produce social-first video content, including real-time event coverage.
  • Portfolio of work samples demonstrating experience in interviews, highlight reels, and social media-focused video content (submission required).
  • Proficiency in social media management tools.
  • Collaborative, solution-focused team player with a positive attitude and adaptability in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and extended event coverage as needed.

World Equestrian Center is managed by Columbus Hospitality Management , a company committed to providing quality service and memorable guest experiences in a positive and welcoming work environment. We are focused on supporting the needs of our team through our commitment to the family/work-life balance and by providing development opportunities.

We are proud to be a Drug-Free Workplace/EOE. All applicants will be required to submit a background check prior to employment.
