A Guidance, Navigation and Controls (GN&C) engineering job at Edwards AFB, CA 93524 is currently available through Belcan at one of our key engineering clients. To be considered for this role, you will have a Bachelor's degree in Software, Systems or Aerospace engineering, and 5+ years of relevant experience working with guidance and navigation systems in a highly dynamic environment. Experience with military systems is essential to support of this customer. Additionally, experience with aircraft flight testing is a plus. SECRET CLEARANCE is REQUIRED!

Job Duties:

• Design and test military navigation and guidance systems
• Develop requirements verification methods
• Support flight testing of critical flight systems
• Analyze GNC system functionality to identify gaps and resolve issues
• Work with customer to analyze data to improve and enhance requirements and functionality of systems

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Software, Systems or Aerospace engineering
• At least 5+ years' of experience developing requirements, designing, and testing navigation and guidance systems
• 20+ years' of experience for a GNC SME level and proficient in developing requirements, designing, and testing navigation and guidance systems.
• Provided GNC flight test support and conducted pre-and-post flight analysis
• Analyzed vehicle dynamics through 6-DOF simulation
• Developed PID control algorithms for a missile or aircraft
• Experience with inertial measurement units and GPS aided guidance
• Background with tactical military aircraft
• Experience in flight test support
• Experience working in multi-disciplinary design, development, and test teams
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Due to the nature of the work performed, US Citizenship is a requirement.
• Current Secret Clearance is required!

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

• Strong problem-solving skills and creative thinker motivated to apply technical standards and methodologies to develop solutions
• Designed guidance control laws governing the unmanned flight of a vehicle
• Performed system identification to characterize unknown dynamics
• Skills in MATLAB/Simulink, C++, GitLab, Git, Atlassian tools (JIRA, Bitbucket, Confluence)
• Proficient in the design, analysis, and test of flight vehicle management systems
• Experience with flight software development
• Adept at designing and certifying to military standards
• Collaborative team player with the ability to provide technical leadership and position others for success
• Self-starter that can perform independently with minimal direction

We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary range of $110,000 to $190,000. Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
