What To Expect
This Project Manager on the HV Battery Pack Design Engineering team will drive Optimus battery programs from concept to high volume production. Optimus is a novel product forging new ground in HV battery requirements & operation, so this role requires someone with strong technical fundamentals, a passion to launch new technologies, and an unparalleled ability to pull people together and set good direction in the face of uncertainty. This role requires a highly organized mindset and the interpersonal ability to work across a broad swathe the company – you will drive the design & cross functional teams to execute quickly at high quality. Tesla moves quickly, so being self‐motivated and disciplined is critical. You must be passionate, but direction changes frequently, so you must also be resilient. We are open to hiring for multiple seniority levels based on experience.

What You'll Do

Accountable for creating, maintaining & communicating schedules & plans for battery projectsDrive action and motivate design & cross functional teams to successfully execute within time & resource constraintsIdentify creative & timely solutions to key program challengesTrack project progress & report effectively on status, blockers & changesDevelop & maintain effective communication channels to all stakeholdersTrack resourcing of projects & drive resource balancing between different program prioritiesSupport tracking & execution of design validation testingDrive effective communication of key information between all teams, including development or adaptation of novel tools and best practices as neededOwn product BOM accuracy & communication of changes between design, supply chain, PMI & material planningComplete appropriate documentation & ensure accuracy of data across Tesla systems (Enovia, MES, WARP, Polarion)

What You'll Bring

Bachelor's Degree Engineering, or equivalent experience 3-4 years of related experience and evidence of exceptional abilityExcellent communication skills, both verbal & writtenExperience creating reports, analyses or reporting tools for managementExperience in managing or launching hardware productsExperience driving design cycle & design problem solvingAbility to work cross‐functionally & manage large teamsDetail oriented with strong record‐keeping & organizational skillsGood overall computer skills, including Microsoft Office & e‐mail programsA desire to increase the effectiveness of your teammates

Expected Compensation

$100,000 - $216,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
