We are currently seeking a Surgery Scheduler to join our team. In this vital role, you will manage the coordination of surgical procedures, ensuring that each case is scheduled with accuracy, efficiency, and patient-centered care in mind. Each scheduler is assigned to specific providers, allowing you to build strong relationships and streamline the surgical scheduling process from start to finish.
Schedule surgical procedures with careful consideration for patient needs, physician availability, and surgical staff schedules
Coordinate pre-operative appointments and surgical logistics with affiliate hospitals
Obtain and verify all necessary patient demographics, medical, and insurance information
Counsel patients on financial responsibilities, including insurance coverage, out-of-pocket costs, and payment plans
Prepare and deliver written estimates, collect deposits, and maintain thorough documentation
Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and internal teams to ensure a smooth surgical experience
Follow up with patients regarding cancellations and rescheduling
Support physicians and staff by answering questions related to surgery scheduling and process
High school diploma or GED required
At least two years of medical office or healthcare administration experience preferred
Previous surgery scheduling experience is a plus
Strong organizational and communication skills
Professional demeanor and ability to work well in a collaborative team environment
