As our
Controller , you will oversee the financial health of multiple entities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic insight. This role is responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting functions, overseeing cash flow, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and providing leadership to the accounting team. You will work closely with leadership to implement best practices, streamline processes, and provide the financial clarity that drives confident decision-making.
Success in this role will be measured by the accuracy and timeliness of financial reports, meeting deadlines for audits and tax filings, maintaining effective cash flow management, keeping accounts payable and receivable aging within company standards, improving processes to increase efficiency, and delivering clear, actionable financial insights that support company growth.
Key Responsibilities - Oversee all accounting functions, including AP, AR, payroll, general ledger, and job cost tracking
- Manage the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Develop budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections for multiple entities
- Monitor construction project costs and provide variance analysis
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, state, federal, and industry-specific regulations
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls and accounting policies
- Coordinate annual audits and tax filings with external partners
- Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff to achieve professional growth and departmental goals
- Support strategic initiatives by providing financial oversight across property management, construction, and brokerage divisions
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, including at least 2 to 3 years in a leadership role
- Proven experience with construction accounting and multi-entity organizations
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative leadership style
Compensation And Benefits - This is a full-time position.
- Competitive salary at $95,000 to $110,000 annually, based on experience.
